There is no slow-down here, each season ushers in its own unique recreational opportunities, special events, and social programming. Here are few things to keep an eye on this month

Offering great live music and non-stop fun, Winter Carnival offers a little bit of everything: Mardis Gras Parade, Snowshoe Golf, Talent Show, Monster Dog Pull, Fireworks On The Lake, Beer Garden, Vendor Court, and more. Stop by to see Tamarack’s snow sculpture.

THE SNACK SH ACK “ We are always looking for ways to improve the overall experience at Tamarack, and this is just another example,” says Jeff Kempthorne, Director of Tamarack Club. “The Snack Shack provides an alternative to the Mid-Mountain Yurt, which can get crowded on busy ski days. As a Member’sonly facility, the Snack Shack is a good, low-key way to take a break, meet new folks, and extend your ski time without having to leave the mountain.”

This time of year, individuals and families love being on the mountain. Wouldn’t it be nice if Club Members (and members’ guests) had a place to go to regroup, warm up, grab a drink, or even a light snack—all without leaving the mountain? Now you can. Introducing the new, Members-only Snack Shack located on the Lower Serenity Trail. The Snack Shack hours are from 9 am to 4 pm, seven days a week. It is staffed full time, at least initially, and features complimentary snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. Club Member’s can access the Snack Shack via the Lower Serenity Trail.

There are also many other ways to enjoy, including practice sessions, club gapping, closest to the pin challenges, and access to the extensive Trackman library featuring 267 world-class golf courses. Club fittings will be available soon! Hours: 11AM - 9PM, 7 days a week (subject to change) Hourly Rates: $50 per hour - up to 6 people can play at one time. HOMEOWNER PROFILE: KIMBERLY & MIKE GRATZ We are pleased to feature our first Tamarack family of 2024: Kimberly and Mike Gratz. As residents of Tampa, Florida, the Gratz’ go back and forth to Tamarack, truly making full use of the four seasons of fun at America’s only ski, lake, and golf resort. Kimberly and Mike have been coming up to Tamarack for about eight years and bought a lock-and-leave residence in The Village in 2021. Check out their story.

Q: SO W H AT BR O UGH T YO U AL L THE WAY FROM TAMPA TO TAMAR AC K? KIMBERLY: The skiing initially. We had been going out west to ski for years at places like Snowmass, Park City, and Breckenridge. And the common denominator with all these places was that they were becoming overcrowded. The amount of quality skiing we were actually being able to do at these places was diminishing. We decided to find an alternative. MIKE: I started researching places that were just as impressive and had that great Alpine setting but were a little more off the radar. That’s how we discovered Tamarack. It was the perfect solution. The skiing is incredible, we get to actually spend more time on the slopes and not waiting in lines. Plus, they have a true all-season lifestyle that is unlike any other community we’ve seen.

Q: A S FLO R I DI A N S, YO U H AVE TO C OMMU TE OBV IOU S LY. W HAT’S THAT B EE N LI KE ? KIMBERLY: It’s been really easy. Flights are no problem, and we have a great condo in The Village which is maintenance free, no hassles. MIKE: It’s perfect for us. A lock-and-leave home that is ready when we are. Tamarack did a great job with the buying process, everyone was so helpful at every step of the way. And they have a buttoned-up property management program so it’s stress free.

Q: WHAT DO YO U LI K E BEST A BO UT TAMAR AC K? KIMBERLY: The people and the atmosphere. It’s such a fun, positive place, we’ve met so many families and friends and there’s always something going on regardless of the season. Our son absolutely loves it and has become an expert snowboarder. MIKE: It feels like a National Park. A winter wonderland each ski season and a great spring, summer, fall lifestyle too. We like the golf, the lake, all the great restaurants and amenities. And they’re always adding new stuff. It’s the perfect community for us—no pretension or attitude, just good times and good people.
